Decides not to evacuate?

The dad makes the decision NOT to evacuate his family. Does he make the right decision?

  • In the 21st century there are a lot of divorces. So, if the father of the family decides not to evcacuate their home when a hurricane is supposed to hit their area, then that may not be the final decision. The mother, or wife, of the family can still say she is leaving and taking her children with her. The wife usually gets custody of the kids. Also wives in this century usually do not depend on their husbands because it is hard to find someone to trust.

  • If the father makes a decision not to evacuate than I think he is the dumbest man on the earth. If he doesn't evacuate he puts the impression on others that he doesn't care about his families well-being. Also if the mother doesn't take action when her husband makes this decision she puts the same impression on others. The wife should take charge and take her children and evacuate. If the father still doesn't evacuate he proves that he is in love with is worldly possesions.

  • First consider his status. Poor with no money to travel? Illness that prevents him from leaving? All of these factors contribute to his decision. In the case of Hurricane Katrina, many people who decided not to evacuate were in the very poverty stricken developments of the city. I think that you cannot make an accurate judgement of the man until you know his circumstances.
