If you oppose same sex marriage are you prejudice???

Recently the Longview News Journal (on Oct. 24) the editor wrote saying if one votes against same sex marriage that you basically are a prejudiced person. Its her opinion and she is trying to persuade likely voters. Article This proposal is an amendment to the State Constitution.

What do you think? Does her opinion make it right and those that oppose are wrong?

  • NO! But, God made man and woman to get married, not man and man or woman and woman. I think it's wrong to gay marry. God doesn't like it,but he still loves them. God doesn't judge.

  • Absolutely no, just because people don't like gay people doesn't make them prejudice. Being gay is a choice it's not a race. If people want to be stupid then they can.

  • I think it's alright if people of the same sex marry. I even have a couple of gay friends. I don't think it's wrong at all.It's their choice and they were born that way. Bye.

  • Okay...gay marriage is just flat out wrong!!! In my book, you wouldn't be prejudice if you opposed something wrong. God, the one and only who made the heavens and the earth, made a man for a woman. That's the way it needs to be! Prejudice is bad in race or gender, but being gay is wrong!

  • Hey, everyone has their own right to opinion. Yes I know it says it's wrong in the bible but that's the way they were born. You don't just say one day oh I'm going to start liking the same sex. I know but everyone even gay people deserve the same respect. You guys might not liek them but I'm friendly to them and that's the least we can do.

  • "The bible says that if you are gay than you are bound for hell." What is the scripture reference for this? I'm not for gay marriages, and I agree it is totally wrong. I'm fairly well versed in the Bible and I don't remember a reference to gay people being bound for hell. I think there is only one reason a person would go to hell and that is rejecting Jesus Christ. God loves every one of us, but he hates the sin. I agree with the ones who have posted that people are not predjudiced if you oppose same sex marriages.

  • I am overly sure that it is not prejudice to see that gay marrige is wrong. i think it is sad that anyone is questioning God's intention for marrige. I also know for a fact that it is not judging them, because God has already said that man and man or woman and woman should not marry. So if you think that it is prejudice, Iwant you to know that the God of the universe has already judged that that is not how he intended. Besides God created marrige for a man and woman who love each other so they can reproduce to further God's kingdom!

  • Nasya, When your in a relationship, you are supposed to pray about it,and ask GOD if it is right. How are you supposed to do that when you know it is wrong? When you know that in his word that the same sex marriage is WRONG!!!!!!!!! Write me back I wan't an answer!

  • Well let's see I think just don't ask god if it's right. I think just go with the flow and see what's going to happen. I know you guys are all into God. I mean I am to but still all I'm saying is treat them with respect. Karna will come around and bite you in the butt. I don't mean to sound mean or crazy but if your going to be rude to a gay person it's like being racist. That's just wrong god wouldn't want you to do that.   • You aren't born gay! Their parents, for whatever crazy reason, may have brought them up that way, but why anyone would want to do that is beyond me! I don't think you'd be prejudice at all voting against gay marriages, you're just trying to stop the nastiness before it takes over!
