Woman for President?

The United States has never had a African American or a female for president. Once we had a female running as the vice-president. Do you think America is ready to have a female president?   • I don't think that the issue is wether we are ready for a woman president or not. I don't think that gender should be the issue. I think that it should have to do with the issues. We should pick a president based on their qualifications not gender or race.

  • What does being ready have to do with it? It doesn't matter if she's black because we're all equal no matter what race. It doesn't matter if she's female either. It's based on her qualifications. If she has better qualifications than someone else then we should elect her not the other person just because they're male or white. I don't know if she's for abortion or anything like that, which I'm against, but if she was against it then I would vote for her, no matter what race or gender!

  • Yes, I definately think America is ready for a female president! It doesn't matter if it's a man or woman; what matters is how they handle the problems we are facing in the country! It would definately not matter if she was black, because the only difference between them and other races is their skin color. Does that matter? No! They are still living, breathing human beings and they have the same rights we do!

  • I think that America is ready for a black African-American president. The gender doesn't really matter for president as long as we have one, democrate or republican. We should see how much knowledge she/he has and just vote.

  • I think that we are ready for a female president. I don't think that it matters if she is black or white,I think it is based on their qualifications. I think it also matters what religion is, but thats just me.

  • I don't know why we have never had an African American, woman or man as president. In God's eyes we are all equal, so we should all be treated equally. That means that race and gender should have nothing to do with somebody's decision. I am not prejudice, so I see this in a different view. I can understand that a man would not want a woman as president because then she would be superior to him. Men have a big problem with their egos.

  • I think America is ready and have been ready for a female president. Why would it matter if she was black or not. You shouldn't judge people on their race. I've always wanted to finally have e female president. If I could then I would vote for her, but I'm not old enough. I'm am going to try to get my parents to vote for her though. I hope she wins the election.I think it would be good if we had a woman president because a lot of times men are always like I make the calls, I'm the best, and I tell you (the woman) what to do. I think it will finally show some men that women are just as good or can be just as good a president as a man.

  • Yes, I think that it is a great idea to have a woman as president. But it doesn't matter if she is black, white, blue, or made out of cheese. If she has good ideas, and knows how to handle things then isn't that what reall matters. I agree with cricket23, about everything they said. Having a woman president just might be the best thing for the USA. Men are powerhunger and are most lickley just wanting to be president to tell others what to do. Having a woman of any race as a president would be awsome.

  • I think that we should have a female president. If you think about it, women might just know as much as men do about being president. We need to see how a woman would be as a president, so why not now! You never know, she might just become the best president ever! I believe the only reason why we haven't had a female president before is because people think that women can't do it. They are also sexest and need to get over that. I think this is a good opportunity to show the United States that we can do it too.

  • I have to disagree with being-happy-101, so what if woman have emotions, you must be guy then, because you adviosly don't know what woman have to go through, will you guys sit on ya'lls buts and do nothing we do everything.   • I think that the people that said they didn't want the president EVER to be a woman are most likely men. Most men (not all) get the crazy idea that women are not equal to them. It has been like this for years. Womens rights have always been denied from them in one form or another and it's time for women to take a stand and throw out some of the chauvinistic (prejudiced belief in the superiority of one's own gender, group, or kind) men out of power. Besides, who are YOU to judge a woman? How do YOU know that a woman wouldn't be good in office?

  • I dont think there should be a women president. Im not saying women would do a great job they would be well organized and do a fantastic job. But in the bible it says that men should be head of the houshold and i consider the U.S. my home dont you? And also Im not worried about the color you are because that does not matter. Because we are all the same a color of skin does not say anything about you or your character.

  • What I was getting at in my last post was how would anyone know a girl wouldn't be good as president? We have NEVER had one, so people who have posted before me can't really make a judgement like that, even if it IS in the Bible. And yes, I am a girl. Your point is?

  • YES!! I think that America should have a female president!! It's not right if ONLY men get to do all the work and make all the rules!! They should give females a try!! Also I agree that it doesn't matter what race they are!! We could have a Chinese person come to American and be a President and be the best president that we have ever had!! You never no!!   • I think America is ready for a change! If she was black I think it would matter because some people are predjudice! If she had good qualifications then I would vote for her in a heartbeat. I want a woman to run for president, I think it will be good for America.

  • To Sparky: I think that you are way out of line pal! The presidency should be left to the women rather than the men because we are way more orginized, very responsible, and trustworthy. Their should be more women in the government than their are men. You can count on women more than men. This is a FREE country buddy if you don't like women in the government then you can take it up with the people who choose who gets to be in the government or not.

  • Excuse you Sparky but apparently we don't need to leave the presidency up to the men. It seems to me that in most schools girls are the smartest. So if you think we should leave the presidency up to the "MEN" then there wouldn't be very many presidents because there aren't very many "MEN" LEFT in this world. If it wasn't for woman, YOU wouldn't be here. There is no doubt though that Bush is one of those "MEN" left on Earth. He is a GREAT President.

  • I don't think women should be A president, because the women would be over some men. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 11:3 that Christ is the head of every man, and the man is the head of the women, and God is the head of Christ. It also says in 1 Timothy 2:12 I do not allow a women to teach or to have authority over a man; instead she is to be silent. And I'm a girl so for me to put that on the Internet that's sayin somethin.

  • I think we should stop worrying about girl and guy presidents for a while because Bush is doing a great job and we need to keep him as long as we can. The people on the news needs to stop making up a whole bunch crap about him. Anywho he's doing just fine and he is a guy.
