Would you tell?

A friend confided in you that he / she had broken a serious school rule. If found out the student would be suspended. The office later asked if you knew any information about the incident. Whould you tell the office and why?

  • I would never rat someone out if I could because even if I did the simplest thing later on and they saw they’d rat me out in a second and twist it around to make it sound worse. I did that back and forth for over 2 years with someone and it was just stupid pointless.

  • I would only tell if that person was hurting themself in some way or if they knew it was wrong and kept doing the same thing because they thought it was cool. I would lie if I wasn't going to tell either I would just say yeah I knew but not say what or who I knew about. There is no point to tattle on people though and the Bible talks about tattling too.

  • There is two sides to this I believe that if someone confides in you, you should honor that trust and not take it for granted. But I also believe that if that person is hurting themselves or someone else, in the position of hurting them or someone else, that you should tell a counsler or someone like that. But if its something just like bad, but not hurting anyone then no i wouldnt tell and i would honor that trust.

  • NO!! That friend of mine could possibly do anything (even if we werent that close) I wouldnt tell on him/her. My friendship is way more imoportant than ruining it forever and never getting it back. Like if they stole something there's no way I would tell! BUt if it was something serious, like drugs or something, I would get him help but I would not TATTLE-TALE on him.

  • I would tell the office because you have to think what if they said that they had just brought a gun on campus? also you need to tell because you might be saving the lives of other students or teachers.
