Bad Words at school?

What do you think the message is in this political cartoon?

35 Comments:

  • I think this message is trying to say...They don't want people to say Christmas...They want them to say holiday...so therefore the little boy that said Christmas is getting in trouble for something he didn't even do...and the other two have a reason to be getting in trouble because they really did something wrong!

  • I think that the government is trying to take Christmas out of schools because it symbolises the birth of Christ and they don't want that taught in schools. It may also mean that a lot of kids swear way to much and should be taught a lesson.

  • I think the message is saying that Christmas is turning into a bad word. Some teachers worry about students being offended. Well, if the student will be offended, then they shouldn't listen! It's not that hard. For example, if you just hate bad words for some reason, DON'T LISTEN TO THEM! It's something a lot of people do, and it seems hard not to sometimes. Christmas is NOT a bad word!

  • I think kids say to many bad word and those kids got set to the office for saying bad words. that is what I think the picure is about.

  • I think that what it’s saying about Christmas is that more people are getting more and more picky about words. I think that we should not take Christmas out and put in holiday. It represents Jesus’ birth. I say if we take Jesus’ day out then we can go ahead and take out satin's day!!! I also think the picture is saying that kids do use a lot of language these days.

  • Well my opinion about the picture at the site is for one, kids do swear alot and they should get sent to the principles office. Another thing I think it implies is that with people trying to take Christ out of Christmas the little boy got in trouble for saying Christmas. My opinion personally is that they should NOT take Christ out of Christmas. If there are people that don't want to say Merry Christmas then they don't have to. If they get offended then they can just stay home!!!!!

  • I agree with you stawberry... because I want people to saay Merry Christmas not being merry Xmas!!! I so totally agree with you!!! Anyways Bye

  • I think that many people say bad words and they shouldn't.But saying "Christmas" is not a bad word.People that are from different countries are trying to take away everything that we have of christianity. Bad words shouldn't be said but Christmas can be if prefered.

  • I think that the message is saying that nowadays Christmas is becoming a just a fun holiday, well, I'm not saying that it's not, but people are getting p.o ed because people are excited about Christmas. This morning my mom was on the internet, and there was a word that celebrated all holiday's it was Christmahaunkuanza. It celebrates Christmas, Haunaka, and Quanza. If a different race was walking down the street and they said Merry Christmas, or Happy Quanza, or Happy Haunaka, what are we gonna do,? chop off their heads off and roast them I mean c'mon!

  • I think it is saying that people are getting so bad that Christmas is a bad word and u shouldn't say it Because some people dont bleive in God.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 8:32:00 AM

  • I think the message is trying to say that saying Christmas is bad. Isn't that stupid? If you haven't realized I capitalized Christmas. I wonder why. DUH... isn't it obvious,Christ's name is in it. He's the ONLY reason we celebrate Christmas, or at least it should be!!! I'm sorry but I'm going to say Christmas, everyone else can get over it! I celebrate Christmas because it is Christ's birthday. So yes, I'm going to go around saying Merry Christmas because I'm proud to be a Christian and that's why I celebrate Christmas. Not for presents! So whoever says saying Christmas is bad and wrong, They better recognize because saying that is just like implying that saying Christ is bad and wrong.

  • I think that the picture is applying that they think that Christmas should be counted as a bad word. I don't think thats right,if people want to say Christmas then they should be able to.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 8:39:00 AM

  • I think that this cartoon means that people are trying to get rid of christmas and I think that is disgusting. this country was broght up by god and our ancestors.I say if you have a problem with christmas you can just leave this country.

  • I aree COMPLETELY with cricket23. Christmas should definitely be said. I like the law about the cusswords. If you cuss you get a 100 $ fine. I love that law.Kids should get sent to the office and fined for cussing.

  • The message is saying that christmas or christ is not aloud at school.I believe that Christ should be at school.Christ saved us. People are stupid because they are trying to get rid of somneone who saved them.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 10:14:00 AM

  • I think it's relating to some people not wanting Christ to be talked about in school.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 10:21:00 AM

  • The message is implying that people shouldn't say CHRISTMAS!!
They want you to say Happy Holidays, because they consider Christmas like a cussword. But in reality about 89% of the USA are christians. That percentage, in my opiniion, should rule. We SHOULD be able to say christmas.

    P.S. Merry Christmas !!!

  • I think that the message is trying to say that people are makeing Christmas a bad word. Which it is not! I also think that it is saying that kids say to many bad words.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 11:35:00 AM

  • I think the message is trying to say that they don't like people saying Christmas. It's dumb that they think that offends people. You shouldn't be "forced" to say holiday. It's merry Christmas not merry holiday.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 11:37:00 AM

  • The message is perfectly clear. The cartoon shows that people these days are really twisted. I mean what is the TRUE!!! meaning of Christmas? Jesus Christ duh!!
We are celebrating his birth and if I got in trouble for saying Christmas at school you would here a lecture from me and my family!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 11:38:00 AM

  • It was really refreashing to read all answers. And got the strong impression that the younger people do not agree with cussing. Why use filthy words to exspress oneself, when Christ never has. So do all you can for the better around you.
Christmas originated around Jesus the Saviour and his gift is Eternal life ....

  • I really dont see the problem with swearing big deal i always do and I always will

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 3:24:00 PM

  • I think the message in the cartoon is that christmas is a bad thing. also I think they are saying that because maybe they don't believe in God. And maybe they are nonreligouse so they don't believe in it .

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thursday, December 15, 2005 8:30:00 AM

  • I think it is a protest against taking god out of school.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thursday, December 15, 2005 8:35:00 AM

  • The message in this cartoon is that the student got in trouble for saying one word that is not even bad. It is stupid that people are trying to take their creator, their savior out of not only their life but everyone else's too. I don't care who you are or what you try to do, I am going to believe in God and I am not going to try to hide it either. We are supposed to have freedom of speech in this nation. I have the right to talk about God and I am going to. When I die I will see God. If you are one of the people who are trying to take away my rights and is trying to take God out of my life, when you die you will not see God, but you will believe in God.

  • Why should we not be able to have the bible at school. If you want to say something about your religion then you shouldn't get in trouble. When the president says one nation under God he means
    GOD
    UNDER
ONE NATION. If we're supposed to believe in nothing at all where did we come from.

  • I think that this message is trying to say how everyone is trying to take Christ out of Christmas. I think that this is all just so rediculous because the last time i checked...you can't spell Christmas without Christ! This cartoon seems a little dramatic but...that's what it will eventually come down to if we don't put a stop to it now!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thursday, December 15, 2005 11:23:00 AM

  • It is saying that people today think Christmas offends people. Like the f word, The f word might offend somebody. You can't even go to Wal-Mart and say Merry Christmas. They're just trying take God out of everything

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thursday, December 15, 2005 12:26:00 PM

  • I think that the cartoon is trying to send out a message that they're trying to through out christmas out school. Anyways I think that it is wrong that they take Christmas out school because everybody loves Christmas. And plus they even loved Christmas back in there day.

  • I think it is saying that kids are saying too mant bad words at school. I little boy said Christmas and got sent to the offinced because so many people are getting affended by it.
