No Christmas at Wal Mart

Many business's such as Wal Mart are not going to acknowledge Christmas in their advertising. They will just say Winter Specials, Holiday Season, etc. Employees are not even allowed to say Merry Christmas. Reason being is to not offend those that do not believe in the purpose of celebrating Christmas. Even our school calendar does not acknowledge Christmas holidays. It says Winter Break. What do you think about the move to taking Christmas out of our holiday season.

  • I think that even if there are non-believers in christmas then they should at least acknowledge the fact that they believe in Christs Birthday!!! I will walk around Wal*Mart and say "Merry Christmas" and just see what they think about that!!! Because they will probably kick me out of Wal*Mart!!

  • Me I think it is stupid, because we have had Cristmas at Wal-mart for a long time. If someone don't like to celebrate Christmas they shouldn't get a hot head over someone telling them Marry Christmas. When some one tells you that it's just like say'n good day.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Thursday, November 17, 2005 7:51:00 AM

  • If Wal-Mart is not advertising Christmas this year, why are they wrapping their numbers by their check out station things in gift wrap to make them look like christmas gifts? If people do not believe in christmas, then they dont have to acknowledge that they are wishing them a Merry Christmas.
But anyway,i just think that Wal-Mart should still do their christmas thing bec they have always done that.

  • I think it's stupid! We have Christmas every year, Because it is Christ's birthday. If it wasn't for HIM we would all go to....... a very bad place. And He is the the reason we have Christmas in the first place. We shouldn't even be getting gifts. It isn't our birthday, but He loved us so much that he gave us the gift of eternal life so I'm going to go around Wal Mart or wherever saying Merry Christmas, because if it wasn't fo his birth he wouldn't have been able to die for us!!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 7:18:00 AM

  • I think that the workers in there should say the holiday that they believe in. For example if you check out with a Jewish person they could say "Happy Hannukah." Then again if you went to someone who believed in Christmas, then they could say "Merry Christmas." I myself believe in Christmas, but I know not everyone believes the same. Even if someone said "Happy Hannukah" to me I would say "You too" because that may not be what I believe in, but I don't want to hurt their feelings.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 7:18:00 AM

  • I don't think taking Christmas out of our holiday season is right. Christmas is probably the only day people are nice to each other. You can go around and say Merry Christmas and they would say the same thing back without a care.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 7:20:00 AM

  • I think it is wrong cause as ughoghunter chick said get over it cause what if isaid happy birthday. What are the people gonna do press charges just cause i said something to them. Well yeah its just like saying have a good day. Well if dont believe in Christmas than stay at home like the GRUNCH did.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 7:22:00 AM

  • ok <3prep<3 your werid why are you going to risk getting kicked out . When you know that its already wrong so don't worry about it. if the people think it wrong then its worng but if i know the people they will say something because this is the time of year that familys get together and have fun. well on a another note it wouldn't be the same with out" MERRY CHRISTMAS "

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 7:28:00 AM

  • I think that it is wrong Christmas is a holiday that everyone should enjoy. If you have a problem about Christmas you should start going to church. We have a holiday about death and fear, and nobody thought about not saying happy Halloween. This holiday is about love and new life Jesus. That's the way the world should be,not hate but love thats way God made us.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 7:35:00 AM

  • No Christmas at Wal Mart is WRONG!!!!!!! They have always celebrated Christmas so why should this year be any different? Just because there are people that don't believe in Christmas that moved to our country is not a good enough reason for everyone else not to get to. When they moved to our country they should have been ready to adopt our ways. If they don't want to celebrate Christmas they should simply just stay away from Wal Mart. The mojority of people that go to Wal Mart do believe in Christmas because that is where they do their shopping. If they don't celebrate Christmas it may make some people mad.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 7:54:00 AM

  • They should go back to the Declaration of Independenc and the amendments. They refer to god and christ. Why did we even get a WINTER break. Because of CHRISTMAS. Christmas is the reason we get out of school and Christ is the reason we are here

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:34:00 AM

  • I think Wal Mart is blowing this way out of proportion. I am a religious shopper at Wal Mart but I would boycott Wal Mart just for this because it's crazy. I am gonna do what <3prep<3 said and go around Wal Mart saying Merry Christmas. Wal Mart can say it however they want to say it, but you can't take christ out of christmas

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:38:00 AM

  • I personally think that taking Cristmas out of stores and not saying Happy Holidays is stupid. The reason why I think that is becaus when somebody tells you Happy Holiday's that means their telling you good morning or good day and being nice. Plus we have had people saying Merry Christmas for decades, and plus the fact that we have Chrustmas is to celebrate Jesus's birthday not to get presents, but we mainly people just celebrate Christmas to get presents. That is not right.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:38:00 AM

  • I think that the move not to acknowlege Chistmas is a dumb move. The people who don't believe in Christmas need to just deal with it. I think that their are a lot more people who would like to be told marry Christmas when they leave WalMart. I know that when I leave a place I would like to tell or to be told marry Christmas.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:39:00 AM

  • I think this is all stupid how they're not going to have Christmas at Wal Mart. We've had it there all these years and now people are complaining? That's just really weird. I mean, some people may not believe in Christ but that doesn't mean they can ruin all the fun for other people.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:42:00 AM

  • I can't believe this, there is no reason not to say merry Christmas to someone who just bought mergindice from you. Personly I think that this will hurt Wal Mart over the holidays when other stores whish you a merry Christmas and they don't. I'm going to walk into Wal Mart and start yelling merry Christmas, or I would if I wouldn't get put in jail.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:42:00 AM

  • I THOUGHT that it was imposible for America to get this far from the true foundation of this country. God. Now it is cleer that we do not appreciat what we have. We care so much about what the world thinks that we can not evan say happy birthday to the one person who made our country possible. To sink so low into ourselves that we cant evan acknowledge him is truly and utterly awfull. I think that people can have thier own religion but a few librals should not be able to change our foundation.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:46:00 AM

  • I think that we should have Christmas everywhere, because I think we should all believe in
GOD. Who shouldn't believe in GOD? That's all a brother's got to say.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:46:00 AM

  • I think that if people dont believe in christ then they don't have to say Merry Christmas. If people want to say it then they should be able to. In the decleration of independence it says that we have freedom of speech. So we should be able to say Merry Christmas to one another. The decleration of independence talks about christ so we should also. If I worked at Wal-Mart I would quit and I would also get some other fellow employees to quit with me. If Ididnt work at Wal-Mart and I was older I would email the president to tell him. Thats all I have to say.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:48:00 AM

  • Well, I think that the employees anywhere should have their own freedom of speech. I can understand the company probably not wanting an employee to tell a customer where they can get an item cheaper; but they should be allowed to say whatever they want. If Wal Mart doesn't want to offend people, then they should put a big sign outside saying Merry Christmas; so that the customers know that the employees might say that to them. I am a Christian and I say "Merry Christmas" to everybody to be polite.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 8:52:00 AM

  • I think that it is a good idea that these wal-mart employes are not alowed to say merry christmas to the customers, Because there is more then one religion. Yes I am a christian and a majority of people in Texas, as far as im concerned are also christian but we are not looking at all sides of this argument. People could be very ofended and disrespected by these wal-marts employes because they assume everyone is all the same religion.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 9:02:00 AM

  • If you take christmas out of wal-mart then what is the point of christmas. Why say christmas? You might as well go ahead and just say "mas" because it seems to me that people have forgotten the whole reason behind Christmas is the birth of christ .

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 11:53:00 AM

  • I think that is is very stupid that they are taking Christmas out of Wal Mart. Just think about it for a minute.....it's WAL MART! We by alot of Christmas stuff from there and now we can't because they won't say Christmas. They aren't even allowed to say Merry Christmas! Now that is just about the dumbest thing I have ever heard! I don't see why they have to have a problem now about it when in the past the didn't care. I think that people are just trying to sturr up more trouble that will make everything worse.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 12:04:00 PM

  • I think that it's not right to not be able to say "merry christmas." I know there a lot of different people in the world and not everyone believes in christmas, but they haven't ever got offended before as far as I'm concerned. I think they should be able to say whatever they want because they have freedom of speech. It's in the amendments or something. But anyway who cares if they say "merry christmas." Almost everyone in Texas is christian. Most people celebrate christmas. I mean it could offend the people that do celebrate it by noy saying "merry christmas." No one would be here if it weren't for christ anyway so why not be able to not say "merry christmas." It's like saying let's not celebrate the one who put all of us on this earth the He made.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 12:06:00 PM

  • This is so stupid!! IT is just not christmas with out walmart. People just need to get over their insicurities and just get happy and go to church!!! How does it hurt to say "Merry Christmas", People just need to get over themselves.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 12:09:00 PM

  • If they take the Christmas out of Walmart then there well be no reason to go to Walmart except for food. Why will they want to take Christ out of Christmas? The reason Christmas is spelled like it is; is because Christ was born on that day and if you belive in Christ then you won't take Christmas out of any store. I mean the people don't have to go to Walmart to shop they can go to other stores.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 12:13:00 PM

  • Why cant we have Christmas? Its a time of joy. If we dont celabrate Christmas then the world would not be as nice as it is. It's Christs birth day it's not a big deal to celabrate someones birth day,we celabrate birthdays all the time so why is it a big deal not to celabrate Christmas?

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 12:23:00 PM

  • I think that this is just plain STUPID!!! The whole reason that there is a Christmas is because it is Jesus's birthday. Christmas isn't for people to get presents or lay out cookies for "Santa Claus" to eat, like there even is one, it is for us humans to remember our Saviors birthday. I know that I would be really mad if anyone didn't acknowledge my birthday, how do you think Jesus feels? He died on the cross for our sins, but we won't even take a little time out of one day just to remember that the one who is preventing us all from going to **** is having his birthday!!! I'm outraged!!!!!! When one thinks of December 25, they usually think of presents, when they should be thinking of the Lord's birthday, because without him there would be no Christmas!!! Wal Mart thinks there should be no Christmas.... WELL I'VE GOT NEWS FOR THEM, IF IT WASN'T FOR JESUS THERE WOULD BE NO WAL MART!!!!!!!!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, November 18, 2005 12:25:00 PM

  • I do not thimk we should because Christmas is christ birthday. He created us to. Plus this country was founded on christian beliefs.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 7:12:00 AM

  • I think that people need to get a life, if they don't like getting told Merry Christmas, than they can get over it. It is not a crime to tell someone Merry Christmas, it is apart of the first Amendment, and it says freedom of speech, (not in those exact words) but anyway, if they don't like it then stay inside where they won't hear it.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 7:33:00 AM

  • I think it is wrong. If some people dont believe in Christmas then they can just forget it and go on with their shopping. They dont have to ruin it for everyone else. So Wal Mart can say Merry Christmas if they want to.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 7:34:00 AM

  • Why do people get mad when we say merry christmas,I mean I am sure they do not mind saying "trick or treat!"It is realy starting to tick me off!I mean its just not right,if they dont like me saying merry christmas they can kiss my butt!MERRY CHRISTMAS!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 7:37:00 AM

  • I don't think we should take Christmas out of the holiday season. If someone doesn't belive in God then they are just stupid. Oh yeah, there was a big bang and there was the Earth. Uh-hu. Whatever. God created the Earth, us, and everything around you. So if everyone else decides to take God out of everything you can just kiss this because I'm gonna say Merry Christmas and I'm gonna celebrate Christmas. Just like I'm gonna say "under God" in the pledge of allegience any way you write it!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 10:20:00 AM

  • I agree with most of the people on here. Christmas is like the biggest celebration of the year, well it should at least be. If there allowed to celebrate like Hallooween nand calintines they should be alble to celebrate Christmas. I mean there are very few people that I find that don't celebrate Christmas. It's to bad for those people because Christmas has been a celebration for a long time. Longer then aby other holiday that is and it should be able to be celebrated in stores for those who do celebrate it. I know lots of people who don't beleive in Halloween but I don't see them taking things like happy halloween and just saysing things like happy halloween. So when it comes down to it I think that all stores shouls be able to say "Merry Christmas" just like they say "Happy halloween."

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 11:25:00 AM

  • I think that it is a horrible think to take Christmas out of our holiday schedule, because even if there are non-believers there are still more believers than non-believers! I think that they should be allowed to say "Merry Christmas" because when someone says that to me it makes my day perfect! Thanks for Listening!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 11:27:00 AM

  • Hi, I am in Mr. Fisher's class and I have something to say: Oh no way Christmas should always be celebrated!!! It's Christ's birthday, shouldn't we respect that?! And Christmas is a time to be together as a family and just take some time off. Wal-Mart is being disrespectful, not even to bother saying "Merry Christmas." Christ's birthday is very important and it's like they're just forgetting about it, skipping over it. That makes me mad. Well, that's all I have to say. Christmas has to be celebrated!! We should all know that!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 11:30:00 AM

  • Walmart cant say Mrry Christmas but they can wrap presents for people who pay, and send us Christmas flyers and decorate. If they are doing all of that which they are I dont think that it would really hurt just to say Merry Christmas. If people dont believe to me in my opinon they dont have very much spirt.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 11:56:00 AM

  • It's crazy! Why would any one want to stop selling Christmas Stuff. Christmas is a very important time in children lives so why? thats not kool

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 21, 2005 12:14:00 PM

  • I think they should still say Merry Chrismas even though some people don't believe in the purpose of celebrating Chrismas. If the do not celebrate Christmas and they go to a stores that is they should egnore them. I will still say Merry Christmas.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Tuesday, November 22, 2005 7:34:00 AM

  • I think it is really stupid for them to not be allowed to say "Merry Christmas"!! We have had that tradition going on for years now and it shouldn't stop now just beacause some people don't like it....they can go away!! It Christ's birthday and we should be able to celebrate it!! It's the same thing as saying "Happy Haloween"!! I bet they will say that!! We should have the right to say what we want...when we want...and nobody stop us!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Tuesday, November 22, 2005 7:41:00 AM

  • I think that this is really stupid! When will America wake up? Our nation was founded with God in mind. "In God we trust" is our motto, but they can't say Merry Christmas for fear of being sued by those who don't believe in the God who keeps our country from going down the tubes. 85% of America claims to be Christian, so Wal-mart and other stores are worried about the other 15% that arn't Christian. To me, I don't know about you, but I think something needs to be done. This is rediculous!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Monday, November 28, 2005 11:20:00 AM

  • I think that Walmart should celebrate christmas. Because people from forien countries should have to deal with different religions. Us Americans have to live with different religions. So why can't thay.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Tuesday, November 29, 2005 8:12:00 AM

  • I think it is not right to take christmas out of the holiday season.
the people at the wal- Mart stores or any other store if they would like they should be able to say Merry Christmas" Although some of them may noy want to they dont have to but those who do should be able to wish people a Merry Christmas.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, December 09, 2005 9:17:00 AM

  • if i was in walmart i would say marry cristmas no matter what.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, December 09, 2005 9:39:00 AM

  • I think that if some people dont believe in christmas and what ever they shouldnt be offended to here the words MERRY CHRISTMAS its not a sin to say that or anything so I think wal mart people sholud say merry christmas anyways. MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Friday, December 09, 2005 9:40:00 AM

  • You now what that makes me furious! It really ticks me off. Making Wal-Mart’s people say happy holidays instead of marry Christmas is wrong. I think it’s just stupid. That is what I think.

By Anonymous Anonymous, at Wednesday, December 14, 2005 8:44:00 AM

  • The wal*mart workers should say," Happy Christmahanakwanzaka!" That accknowleges all relegions. those who celebrate christmas, hanakah, or kwanza. And those who dont believe in a relegion will have to deal with it.
