Amendment 14: Citizens by Birth

Amendment 14: All persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction therof, are citizens of the United States.

Should new borns of illegal Hispanic's in the United States be automatically entitled to be a citizen of the United States?

  • Of course they should be entitled to be a citizen of the United States. They were born in the U.S. so they are a citizen of the U.S. even if their parents are here illegally. But it depends on if the mother was pregnant when she came to the U.S. If she was then the baby also came here illegally, but if she wasn't then the baby should automatically become a citizen of the U.S.

  • yes, because they are legally born in the united states and I think that it they should not bring all those problems on the parents of a new born baby. I think that the parents should be able to enjoy their new born baby. Because they are probablly going to have all kinds of problems with the baby any way. So like the government needs to just BACK OFF!!!!!!!!!

  • I think that they are citizens of the U.S. They were born here so, they're citizens, right? Their parents may be illegal, but they were here.
