Employer wants to see your grades!
In Longview over 50 businesses are requiring a high school transcript to view when deciding wheather to hire a new employee. This includes part time highschool students. Why do you think employers are wanting to check transcripts?

Maybe to make sure that they have time for a job. They might be failing so they need to stay in school and focus. They have to make sure they will be committed for the job.

They probably do this to see how committed that person will be at the job by seeing how committed they are to their school work. They also want to see if they will excel at the job or they will just barely slide by and get their paycheck by the hair on their chin.

I think the reason they want to see your grades is because he wants to make sure you're not somebody who will go out and get drunk or steal from their office. Or you could be some hobo or something! MOST, not all, high school graduates or students would be more mature and nice to the business's customers. You don't want someone who smells, needs to brush their hair, and who is mean to your customers do you?

I think they do it so that they can make sure they hire a good person who will do his work and not lack off! There not going to give you a pay check just for lacking! When you get a job they expect you to be commited to the job and to do what they job requires!

I think the employers want to see how responsible their employee is going to be. If the person is failing most or all of his/her classes then it shows that if they slack in school then they will most likely slack at work or not even show up. Now if the grades are not failing then it shows they try hard at school so they will probably show hard work also at work.

I think the employers want to see your grades to see if you are a slacker. If you are passing all your classes then they should have no problem with giving you a job. But if you are failing they might not give you a job because they that you need to concentrate on your schoolwork. I sort of agree with some of the employers because if you cant pass and do good in school, then how are you going to be good at your job?

They want to see if you are going to be lazy at your job or not. If they see that your grades are bad then they probably won't hire you. They won't hire you because you are lazy if you have or had bad grades. Because you know your grades show it all about you!

I think employers are wanting to check transcripts to see if you're a trustworthy person. If you were absent a lot, then they might think you won't show up for work. If you failed then they might think that you were lazy so you won't do your work.

I think that employers want to see your highschool transkript because they probably dont want to hire someone whith low grades because that could imply that your a slacker, that if you didnt tey hard in school why would you try hard at work? I personaly think that thier reasons are obvios and that sicomstances like this should not be questioned. If you did not do your best before, you do not deserve a job were you could do the same thing.

reason employers look at your transcripts is to see your grades to see if your capeable ofhaving the job or doing it right.

I think they want to see our grades of their employees because they might want to know if the job is affectting the persons grades.

I think employers are wanting to view transcripts in order to judge whether or not you can do well at the job. If you do not do well in school, then they will see this and think you will not perform well. Even though this post doesn't ask for your opinion on this being right or wrong, I feel it is necessary to share mine. :) I do not think that asking for transcripts is right. They are judging you before they have "tried you out". I think that failing Math, for example, will affect the way you stock shelves or take inventory. Now don't think that this post is coming from someone who fails. I am a straight A student and have never failed anything in my life. I just feel like asking for transcripts is a breach of privacy.
